Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has claimed Paris Saint Germain wants to sign Neymar because they can not sign Alexis Sanchez.
The Frenchman has remained adamant that Sanchez will not be leaving the Emirates this summer despite the forward’s refusal to sign a new deal with just one year to expiration.
Paris Saint Germain has bee tipped to make a mega move for the Chilean, with reports of ongoing talks between the club and the 28-year-old.
The Ligue 1 giants have also been linked with a swoop for Barcelona forward Neymar and are ready to pay his gigantic wagebill for the next five years.
However, Wenger has again suggested that PSG are moving for Neymar because they cannot sign Sanchez, who he believes will see out his contract at the Emirates.
‘I read L’Equipe in the last three or four days,’ said Wenger. ‘It [the rumours] has moved from Sanchez to Neymar. Today they speak about Neymar, three days ago they speak about Alexis. They need as well, like you [reporters], subjects.’
When it was suggested that surely PSG could not sign both the forwards, Wenger commented: ‘No. They cannot get Sanchez so they go for Neymar.’
